What's the weather like in December/January?
Hands down, January is my most favorite month of the year here. I LOVE the Cayman Islands during January. The weather is warm (but not blistering hot) during the day, so you can go swimming or go for a nice walk. It's a little cooler in the evening, so you could sleep with the windows open (make sure you have screens on the windows for the mosquitoes though). The good weather usually starts in the middle of November and goes until about the middle of February.
This is also the busiest time of the year here. In December and January, it's cold in the US, Canada, and most countries in Europe. So, many vacationers, try to escape the cold by visiting the Caribbean Islands. That means this is also the most expensive time to travel here.
What's the weather like in July/August?
These are my least favorite months of the year. The weather is blistering hot and excessively humid. We can't even enjoy the sand because it's too hot for my daughter to walk on during the day. We normally take two walks a day (in the morning and late afternoon). However, during these months we don't walk until well after 5:00 PM. Instead, we try to go swimming when possible or go to the bookstore, indoor children's gym, etc. It's really really hot.
On the plus side, this is probably one of the least expensive times to travel to the Cayman Islands. There are very few tourists, and so, there are many discounts for plane tickets, hotels, and excursions. If you don't mind the super high heat and humidity, then this could be the best time for you to travel here.
What's the weather like in September/October?
The main concern with these months is that this is the peak of hurricane season. It's true that it's a bit rainy, however, most tropical showers are warm and quick. The real challenge is trying to avoid a hurricane. The good news is that you usually have several days notice before a hurricane hits the Island. If you need to cut your trip short, you won't have a problem leaving the Island. However, I would advise you to purchase some sort of trip insurance so you can get your money back.
What's the best time to visit due to the weather?
In my opinion, the best times to visit the Island are November, April, and May. The advantage of these months is that although, the weather is hot, is not blistering hot yet. In addition, these months are NOT in tourist season, so prices are a bit reasonable. November is technically still in hurricane season, but at least you are not in the peak portion of the hurricane season. April is right at the tail end of tourist season, so you may need to look a little to find bargains, but they do exist.
