Seven Mile Public Beach
The Seven Mile Public Beach is a fantastic public beach on the seven mile strip. This beach is wonderful because it is designed for families to come and spend the day. It has clean bathrooms, beach showers to rinse off, beach chairs for resting, a restaurant in case you get hungry, and best of all a playground.
The Beach and Calico Jacks
This is definitely one of the better public beaches on Seven Mile. During the day, you can find twenty-somethings playing volleyball or a load of screaming kids at the playground. You can also see birthday parties hosted from the wooden pavilions. Also, there are usually a ton of tourists sitting under canopies on the beach and sipping drinks from Calico Jacks.
Calico Jacks is a restaurant or bar right on the beach. They have all sorts of drinks and bit of bar food. What I like about this restaurant is the service is always fast and courteous.
Since this beach is so family friendly, it's wonderful to see other little toddlers trying out the water for the first time. I see them stumbling along the beach or holding on desperately to Mom or Dad's hand as they put their feet in the water.
The Playground on the Beach
For some reason we always end up on this beach in the late afternoon. We're basically trying to cool off after a hot day. As a consequence, I've seen some of the most beautiful sunsets from this beach. It's just wonderful swimming at this beach as the sky changes colors with the setting sun.
