Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach is probably one of the most versatile beaches I've ever been on. Since it is so long, the beach varies depending on where you are. If you are at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, then every amenity is available to you from beach chairs to resort food.

Other parts of the beach have great Grand Cayman snorkeling opportunities and still other parts are roped off for Cayman Islands fishing boats. We find every part of this beach fascinating, and so, this is the Grand Cayman Beach we use the most.

Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach is a long strip of sand and water that is composed of several different public beaches. Actually, all beaches on Grand Cayman are public beaches. The part of the beach that is close to George Town has a lot of resorts and tourists. As you get closer to West Bay, the beaches have more of a family atmosphere.

Grand Cayman Marriott Beach
When my in-laws came to visit us, they stayed at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. When they went to beach, just behind the Marriott, they rested on beach chairs, ate food from one of the outdoor restaurants, and at the end of the day rinsed of with one or the outdoor beach showers. They loved their stay at the Marriott.

Governor's Beach
When we lived in West Bay, this was a beach my family and I loved to visit. It was about half way between George Town and West Bay. This beach was wonderful because its size. It's used by many boat tours to take passengers for Cayman Island fishing.

Seven Mile Public Beach
This beach doesn't really have a name. Since it's right in the middle of the Seven Mile strip, I call it the Seven Mile Public Beach. It is on beautiful stretch of sand just next to a restaurant called Calico Jacks. You'll find a volley ball net, large play ground, and several pavilions to host parties. This beach is very well maintained, and it is a favorite with tourist and locals alike.

Cemetery Beach
This beach is a little closer to West Bay, and as you may have guessed, there's a large cemetery right next to the beach. In addition, there are no amenities on this beach, but I just love this beach. There are not as many tourist, but lots of families living in the area.

West Bay Public Beach
This public beach also doesn't really have a name. It's in West Bay, and so I call it the West Bay Public Beach. It has a large pier where boats take visitors out for fishing tours and scuba diving. We live very close to this beach and walk there several times a week. This beach does have proper bathrooms, a beach shower, and wooden pavilions to host a family picnic or a birthday party.
