If you have some time, Little Cayman scuba diving or Cayman Brac diving will include even more amazing underwater features -- some say the sister islands have the best diving in Cayman.

Grand Cayman Diving: What to Expect
Are you new to diving and just want to see what it's like? Your best option will probably be one of those resort scuba classes that take 2-3 hours. During this course you'll learn the basics of scuba diving and practice using the equipment in the pool. After the class, you can dive in open water with your instructor and see the wonderful coral reef and marine life. You will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 40 ft.
If you plan on scuba diving Grand Cayman, and you want to be proficient at it, then you may want to take a open water certification course. This is the basic course taught by all scuba diving agencies and it typically lasts 3 to 5 days. The course is broken into 3 parts. Part 1 is done with a text book, videos, or on-line training. You will have the assistance of an instructor as you learn the basics of scuba diving. At the end of this portion, there is a test; but, if you've paid attention, it won't be a problem.
Part 2 is done in a swimming pool, and the point is to get you comfortable with the scuba equipment. You will learn basic skills and safety drills. Part 3 is done in open water. In this portion, you'll go over the basic skills with you instructor until you are comfortable, and then you'll go for you first dive with your instructor.

If you are going to be here for several weeks or more, you could take the open water certification. There are many diving centers that offer this certification. When you've finished this course you should be able to dive up to 60 ft.
Once you're certified and you've been diving for a while, you may want to add a few more underwater skills. You could specialize in deep sea diving, night diving, underwater photography, and wreck diving, to name a few. With these specialities, you could enjoy scuba diving Grand Cayman even more. For example, some sites are better explored at night because different marine animals inhabit the reef at that time.
