The National Gallery in George Town, focuses on Caymanian works of art. This is art by more traditional artists as well as all forms of modern art. This is one of the Grand Cayman tourist attractions you really won't want to miss because there is always something unusual to see. The nice thing about this gallery is they change the exhibits often, and so, you will never be bored.
Gallery Entrance
The first time I went to this gallery, I got a personal greeting from one of the staff who also explained what I was going to see. I've been to quite a few galleries and I don't usually get such a genial welcome. Unfortunately, though, they were displaying prison art, which I found a little too dark for my tastes.
21st Century Cayman Exhibition
On my second trip to this gallery, I got the same friendly greeting and a short explanation of what was on display. This time they were showing a mixture of displays that combined traditional and contemporary art work. The exhibit was really quite interesting, and even my daughter enjoyed herself.
