I’m not sure why I find this article so interesting. Possibly, I’m intrigued because it’s another sign of just how desperate the current Cayman government has become. They set a very aggressive schedule to start transferring the money into their coffers. It could be that I feel a little sorry for anyone who may have put their retirement money here in Cayman, and now the government is going to take it (some accounts have been dormant for 30 years). On the other hand, the Caymanian government has been quite “generous;” most governments don’t wait 30 years to seize dormant accounts.
