Grand Cayman Tours
Self Guided

Grand Cayman tours are one of the most interesting and personal experiences you can have on the islands. There are so many activities in Grand Cayman that will allow you to experience the island and it's people at a nice leisurely pace. These Cayman Island tours can include a simple walk around Bodden Town or an excursion to the Blow Holes. Grand Cayman Island activities like this will allow you to learn some of the history of the islands as well as experience some of the natural wonders.

The list of Grand Cayman things to do is really quite fascinating. If you want to learn more about Caymanians and their culture you could take a walking tour of George Town or an excursion to the Wreck of the Ten Sails.

Do you really enjoy being out in nature? How about a trip to the Blow Holes? You can experience the force of nature and see the 10-30 ft high water sprays. Would you like something a little calmer? A leisurely stroll on the Mastic Trail would expose you to the natural fauna of the island as well as many of the animals and insects.

We took the small excursion to the Blow Holes, and we were impressed. The beach at that point resembles the Northern California coastline, except that it's much warmer here. The rugged rocks with the waves crashing over them look nothing like the calm and peaceful Seven Mile Beach. Depending on the weather, the blow holes blast huge torrents of water many feet into the air.

We found the Wreck of the Ten Sails a little less interesting only because we really needed binoculars to see the wreck out at sea. However, before you get to the wreck the entrance has a little memorial to lost ships at sea. The most impressive item is a large ship's propeller.

Once you start on the trail, you can see more of the local fauna, small wild animals, and frigate birds. The end of the trail is an observation post to see a ship wreck on the reef maybe a quarter to half a mile off shore. This is why you need binoculars. Otherwise, we did enjoy the little walk out to the water. My daughter enjoyed looking at the frigate birds.
