Desmond Seales Passes Away

The owner and publisher of Cayman Net News, Desmond Seales, passed away on Saturday July 3. In June, he was flown to Miami with flue-like symptoms and then needed heart surgery. The Cayman Net News reported that he was recovering well after the surgery, but after that his condition deteriorated and he passed away on Saturday morning.
Mr. Seales was often a controversial figure. I read many of his editorials, and I would say he was a perpetual thorn in the side of many government officials. Some say he was a bit difficult to work with. Still others point out that he had the strength of character to say what needed to be said.
