These islands are are about 150 miles south of Cuba and about 180 miles northwest of Jamaica. A Cayman Islands map will show Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. The capital is George Town which is in southwest Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman is about 22 miles long and its highest point is 60 ft above sea level. The population is about 57,000 people, and about 32,000 people are Caymanians (2008).

The Grand Cayman map below shows the districts of this island.
- East End is the most easterly district. It's probably the most rural area of Grand Cayman and has more of the authentic Caymanian culture.
- Toward the north is Northside that has quite a few high-end beach homes. Northside is probably most known for the Rum Point Beach.
- To the south is Bodden Town that was Grand Cayman's first capital. This district includes the towns of Bodden Town, Savannah, and Prospect.
- The next district is George Town. This is the capital of the Cayman Islands. It is the city you'll fly into (if you arrive by airplane) or cruise into (if you arrive by ship) when you first come to visit.
- Probably the most famous district is Seven Mile Beach. This is the district that contains all those white sand beaches, fantastic resorts, and great restaurants.
- The West Bay district is an interesting mix of local Caymanians and expats. We lived there for 1.5 years and loved the easy access to the ocean as well as the high number of local restaurants in the area.
